"How you value me"

Strawberries are not only delicious and aromatic, but also healthy: they are rich in vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals, especially if they are grown organically. They are also very low in calories.
One portion of strawberries, around 150 grams, covers an adult's daily requirement of vitamin C. They also contain folic acid, vitamin B1 and vitamin K as well as important minerals such as zinc, copper and manganese. With only around 32 calories per 100 grams, strawberries are a low-energy choice.
Although some people, especially infants and young children, can react to strawberries with skin rashes, these reactions are not usually allergies but pseudo-allergic reactions, the cause of which is not fully understood.
Did you know? Although they are called "berries", strawberries are botanically speaking not berries but aggregate fruits. They belong to the same family as apples, pears and plums and are a rose plant.
