Berries not only taste particularly delicious, they are also good for your health.
Blackberries, currants and raspberries all contain a lot of vitamin C and plenty of minerals. Incidentally, blackcurrants contain more vitamin C than redcurrants. The natural colorants in the berries also have positive health effects and can reduce the risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease. Dried blueberries are also used in natural medicine as a remedy for diarrhea. All five berries are rich in fiber and stimulate digestion. Raspberries are also packed with B vitamins.
Incidentally, despite their name, strawberries are not berries, because botanically speaking, strawberries are actually aggregate fruits.
