Contrary to the weather forecast at the beginning of the week, it was dry on February 21 and the company commissioned was able to continue the marking work from the south/Bad Godesberg in the direction of Koblenzer Tor. At the same time, the company was working with significantly more personnel. As marking work in other cities could not be carried out due to the weather, the company had pulled together the staff in Bonn. As a result, the remaining marking work could be completed - apart from minimal residual work. Beacons to demarcate the cycle lane and the necessary signage will be installed by the company in the coming days.
For cycle traffic, a width of 2.70 meters of the right-hand lane in both directions has been separated with solid yellow markings and illuminated beacons at intervals of five to ten meters. The separated lane for bicycle traffic was marked with bicycle pictograms. Property access roads, junctions and parking spaces remain accessible and are marked in yellow for additional safety. The row of beacons will be interrupted at the relevant points. Driveways and parking spaces can be accessed despite the solid line. This line is only a lane boundary that may be crossed for these purposes. Bus stops and loading zones are also marked. A lane with a width of 3.50 meters remains for motor vehicle traffic.
The traffic trial will run from March to the end of May. It is intended to provide information on the efficiency of the single lane for motor vehicles. Afterwards, the renovation of Adenauerallee will begin.
