The Protocol and Representation Department is responsible for the representation of the City of Bonn by the Mayor of Bonn and, on her behalf, by the mayors.

The Protocol and Representation Department prepares receptions and events for the Mayor of Bonn, receptions for visitor groups in the Old Town Hall and honoring deserving citizens of Bonn.

The staff of the Protocol and Representation Department also handle the participation of the Mayor of Bonn and, on her behalf, the mayors in anniversaries, ceremonies and other third-party events.
The tasks also include questions about patronage and requests for written greetings, for example on the occasion of an association anniversary, a meeting, conference or other event of importance to the City of Bonn.
