From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., there was a colorful program for children and families on the new play area in the middle of the city center: face painting, a children's bookstore quiz and various games. The festival was accompanied by music from the Marion and Sobo band with their own modern style of vocal gypsy jazz, global music and chanson. At the same time, the new city center management presented itself and its work in the adjacent former church pavilion at Budapester Strasse 7.

Urban Development Day 2022 was celebrated on Saturday, May 14, on Stiftsplatz.

The city council hosted a get-together with drinks and snacks, including face painting for children, before launching the participation event for the redesign of Stiftsplatz. Interested parties were able to share and discuss their ideas for the redesign. The event concluded with a musical finale.

The dilettantis brillantis of Golden Kebab Trio play music by and for the liver. The ensemble interprets old and new, known and unknown songs from different countries and cultures with a lot of honey, heartache and joie de vivre. In a Babylonian confusion, the musicians sing in numerous languages and mix diverse influences across borders and genres. The result is a transcultural remix that seeks and finds new musical bridges between North and South, East and West.

Melchi Vepouyoum comes from Cameroon. His music tells of experiences from his childhood and his life and describes the realities of Cameroonian society. The compositions in his mother tongue Bamoun, French and English focus on everyday life in the villages of western Cameroon, the situation of women and children, and the importance of solidarity and love. He creates a variety of rhythms with his acoustic guitar and also uses his guitar as a percussion instrument.

"Absolutely irresistible", writes Folker Magazine about the music of singer Marion Lenfant-Preus (FR/USA) and guitarist Alexander Sobocinski (PL) - also known as "Sobo". The international duo from Bonn makes music that transcends pigeonholes and combines gypsy jazz, global music and chanson. The two musicians draw on their international roots and rich travel experiences and show both musically and linguistically that they are citizens of Europe and the world. Together with their band, with whom they usually perform as a quintet, they will release a new studio album - "Histoires" - on June 25, 2021 on the record label GLM Music.

Maia comes from Cologne and writes songs in English and Spanish. Her compositions - melancholic indie pop - are influenced by a wide range of styles, from jazz to Latin American music. Renzzo and Maluki are two Peruvian artists who have recently moved to Germany. The trio, who met in Peru, perform Maia's song "Olvidar" together. The track is a Peruvian huaino from Maia's debut EP, which was released last summer.

Lea and Linda both grew up in small villages in the Eifel region right next to the Nürburgring. Not only a close friendship connects the two, but also a shared passion for music. In 2019, the two decided to make the LEA x LINDA project their musical focus. Lea and Linda took the plunge to write their own songs and tell their own stories.

Fabo Benz and his producer Galsen have been passionately producing their own rap music since 2017. Inspired by everything from jazz-inspired lo-fi beats to more modern trap sounds, the two Bonn natives give free rein to their creativity. Fabo Benz, whose father comes from Marseille, raps in German and French. The songs are recorded and produced entirely in their own home studio in Cologne Nippes.

Clara Clasen is the founder of a small but energetic acoustic rock manufactory based in Bonn. Her work is characterized by her effectively variable vocals and strong voice as well as her exciting songwriting, which plays with influences from blues, punk and pop. She can usually be found with her acoustic guitar, but sometimes also ventures onto the ukulele or piano. Her first studio album in a band arrangement, "Sugar & Morphine", saw the light of day in 2018.

Ijaz Ali is a singer/songwriter from Bonn. He has been on the road with his guitar as a solo artist since mid-2012, before that he played in various bands. The pop/rock attitude that emerged from these bands still flows strongly into his music, because his songs are anything but pure plucked or cuddly ballads! With both fast and catchy rhythms and melodies, as well as quiet and upbeat pieces, a concert by him promises a varied program.

With Astatine's mesmerizing voice, the duo conveys a new expression of Brazilian joie de vivre. The Romanian jazz singer is accompanied by guitarist Uwe Arenz. Skilfully balancing between rhythmically groovy Latin styles and colorful improvisations, he lays the rhythmic foundation. Astatine says about the new project: "Despite the different language and aesthetics, I always find myself fascinated and infinitely inspired by Latin American music. Yet my native essence remains intact." Indeed, she breathes her musical heritage and personality into Latin jazz, creating her own sound and style. Popular sambas and carefully adapted ballads with a lively jazz accompaniment full of improvisations promise a program with an unusual and fresh touch.
