One of these reports is a preliminary geological report. Over the coming weeks and months, this will require investigations of the subsoil, i.e. the ground, along the planned cable car route. Boreholes will be drilled for this purpose, so there will be isolated restrictions in the surrounding area.
The subsoil investigations will take place in the following areas:
Venusberg slope
In the week from Monday, February 12, 2024, on the Mittelhangweg below the University Hospital. For this purpose, the forest path will be temporarily closed from the Bergstraße junction to the south. The work will take up to a week.
Schießbergweg
From Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in the area of the Schießbergweg stop in Ramerdorf (Beuel district). As a result of this work, Mehlbergweg will be closed near the Schießbergweg junction. This work is also expected to take a week.
Rheinaue floodplain
In March and April, work will be carried out in both the left and right bank of the Rheinaue. There may be isolated restrictions on the use of park paths. The city administration will inform the public as soon as the work has been scheduled.
Background
The cable car in Bonn - from Venusberg on the left bank of the Rhine over the Rhine to Beuel on the right bank of the Rhine - would be the first urban cable car in Germany to be integrated into the public transport system and can be used with a normal local transport ticket such as the Deutschlandticket. The project is being jointly managed by the City of Bonn and Stadtwerke Bonn. The city administration has published extensive information on the Internet at www.bonn.de/seilbahn (opens in a new tab).
