There is an increasing number of antibiotic-resistant pathogens worldwide. Protection against pathogens with antibiotic resistance is therefore particularly important.
While healthy people are not at risk from these so-called multi-resistant pathogens (MRE), transmission to particularly vulnerable and weakened people can lead to life-threatening infections under certain circumstances. This applies to the hospital sector, but also to inpatient care for the elderly.
Only consistent compliance with hygiene measures and uniform implementation of standards can significantly reduce the risk of such microorganisms spreading in hospitals and nursing homes.
