From July 16: First ground investigations for cycle and footpath bridge

From Tuesday, July 16, 2024, the first ground investigations for the planned "Immenburgstraße over the Deutsche Bahn" cycle and footpath bridge between Nordstadt and Weststadt will take place.

The investigations include both boreholes and soundings. These will take place on Heinrich-Böll-Ring between Ellerstraße and Ennemoserstraße and on the other side of the railroad line at Immenburgstraße. The drillings will be completed within a week.

The test drillings will be carried out parallel to the railroad line. There will be no need to close the cycle and pedestrian path. There will only be a narrowing of the railway-side footpath and cycle path over a length of ten meters in the area of the Bonn West light rail stop.

The investigations are part of the planning for the construction of a cycle and footpath bridge over the railroad tracks between Heinrich-Böll-Ring/Thomastraße and Immenburgstraße. The planned bridge will connect Nordstadt and Weststadt exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists.
