City of Bonn

OECD report on the implementation status of the SDGs is presented

The City of Bonn and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) jointly presented the report "A Territorial Approach to the SDGs in Bonn" on Monday, 26 October 2020. It deals with the implementation status of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bonn.

The report was produced as part of the City of Bonn's participation in the OECD program "A Territorial Approach to the SDGs", in which the City of Bonn has been taking part together with eight other pilot regions and cities from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Argentina, Brazil and Russia since July 2018. The program supports cities and regions in implementing the SDGs.

The OECD has also developed an SDG monitoring tool that shows where cities and regions stand in terms of achieving the SDGs in an international comparison:

The report also takes into account the discussions that took place during the two OECD visits to Bonn in November 2018 and January 2020 with various stakeholders from academia, business and civil society. It also contains various recommendations, for example on the planning, strategic implementation and anchoring of the SDGs at the various levels of government, on budget planning and reporting and on the involvement of other stakeholders.
