Preservation and design statutes for Rüngsdorf, Bad Godesberg

The Bonn City Council has commissioned the administration to draw up bylaws for the preservation of buildings and the character of areas in the Rüngsdorf district of Bad Godesberg.

In November 2021, the administration commissioned the bK - bueroKleinkort consortium from Düsseldorf and the Büro für Baukulturerbe from Vienna to draw up a preservation and design statute for the historic center of Rüngsdorf.

The historic center of Rüngsdorf is largely characterized by the buildings along Basteistraße, Rolandstraße and the intersecting Rheinstraße. Despite urban planning and architectural interventions in the past, this settlement area still has clear characteristic features of the fishing and winegrowing village on the Rhine that Rüngsdorf once was.

The administration is being supported by experts in urban development and architectural heritage, Prof. Volker Kleinekort and Prof. Dr. Cristian Abrihan from the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden, in drawing up the preservation and design statutes for this area.

Citizens' workshop

The public information event, at which a draft of the preservation and design statutes was presented, was held on August 31, 2022 in the historic parish hall of the Evangelical Church of the Redeemer. This was followed by an opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions.

Excerpts from the presentation and the topic posters that were presented and discussed at the event are available here.
