Climate bike tour to Bonn's open space plan

On Saturday, June 15, 2024, the City of Bonn's Office for the Environment and Urban Greenery and the ADFC are once again inviting you to an exciting climate bike tour. This year's tour will present Bonn's open space plan, which is currently being discussed in the political committees.

The concept is intended to serve as an umbrella strategy for open space development throughout the city. It provides suggestions on current challenges such as competition for space due to population growth, demographic change, nature and landscape conservation and climate change adaptation. Visions and solutions for open spaces in the urban area for the coming decades are formulated by means of guiding principles for which development goals have been drawn up.

During the climate bike tour, participants will find out at three locations what goals the guiding principles are pursuing and what potential there is in the urban area. The tour starts with the "Strong Landscapes" at the foot of the Kottenforst in Dottendorf. The route continues along the "Blue-Green Networks" to the Annaberger Bach green corridor. Finally, the group will cycle to the Elisabeth Selbert Comprehensive School, where examples of what can contribute to a "green district" will be shown.

The meeting point is at 1.30 p.m. on the forecourt of the Museum Mile between the Kunstmuseum and the Bundeskunsthalle. The route runs mostly off the main roads and takes around three hours with extended stops, depending on the weather.

The number of participants is limited. Registration is possible until June 10 by e-mail to  klimavorsorgebonnde or by telephone on 0228 - 77 54 67.
