Light rail line 66 is to be given its own track on Sankt-Augustiner-Straße (Bundesstraße 56) in the section between Combahnstraße and the junction with Niederkasseler Straße and Königswinterer Straße by widening the road. Following extensive preliminary investigations and traffic counts, the road will be widened by an estimated 8.30 meters to 23.20 meters. On both sides, there will be 2.30-metre-wide footpaths, 2.10-metre-wide cycle lanes and 3.50-metre-wide lanes for private traffic. The light rail will have a track with a width of 7.40 meters. To this end, development plan no. 6722-3 "Acceleration of light rail line 66" is to be adopted, for which the council has decided on early public participation.
The plans will be published from Wednesday, March 26, up to and including Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in the foyer of City Hall, Berliner Platz 2, as well as in Beuel City Hall (second floor), Friedrich-Breuer-Straße 65, during the city administration's office hours, Mondays and Thursdays from 8 am to 6 pm and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm. In addition, the documents can be viewed online on the municipal website at www.bonn.de/beschleunigung-stadtbahnlinie-66 and on the municipal participation portal www.bonn-macht-mit.de (opens in a new tab). There is also the opportunity to express opinions as publicly viewable comments.
