New interim managing director of BonnCC

Ralf Birkner is to become the new interim commercial managing director of BonnCC GmbH, succeeding Dr. Michael Kleine-Hartlage, who left the company at his own request on January 31, 2025. The shareholders' meeting followed the proposal of the BonnCC Supervisory Board under the leadership of Dr. Anette Standop. The contract, which is limited to one year, will begin with effect from February 1, 2025.

Ralf Birkner is 60 years old, married and has one daughter. He has many years of professional experience, including in the Bonn city administration. Ralf Birkner most recently headed the district administration office in Beuel. Mayor Katja Dörner welcomes the Supervisory Board's decision: "Ralf Birkner has all the relevant qualifications in the cultural and events sector. His work as commercial director of Beethoven Jubiläums GmbH, which prepared and organized the cultural events to mark the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth, predestines him for this task. In addition, Mr. Birkner has an excellent network in the Beethoven community. This is particularly important in the run-up to the opening of the Beethovenhalle in order to shape its content profile."

BonnCC GmbH already operates the WorldCCBonn and now also the Beethovenhalle. Its tasks include commercial, technical and operational management. This is essentially event management, i.e. the organizational preparation, support, implementation and billing of conferences, concerts and congresses, marketing in the sense of comprehensive marketing and facility management.

Now that the interim management has been secured, the Supervisory Board will soon discuss the tendering process to find a regular management team for BonnCC GmbH.
