The city of Bonn bases climate adaptation on the planning principles for heat, drought and heavy rainfall risk. In December 2023, the city council confirmed the target resolution on climate adaptation (opens in a new tab). This sets the framework for further projects and measures. The city of Bonn is currently developing an integrated climate adaptation concept, which is being funded by the German Adaptation Strategy. Completion is planned for summer 2025. This will also integrate the results of projects that have already been implemented and further develop existing concepts in a targeted manner.
