Violence comes in many forms: Violence at school, domestic violence, youth violence, sexualized violence or (cyber) bullying/grooming are just some of the manifestations of the phenomenon of violence, which cannot be clearly defined. The aim of violence prevention is to enable children and young people to actively and confidently deal with dangers, curb violence and thus increase their sense of security. The most effective form of prevention prevents violence from developing in the first place.

Young people should be able to grow up without having to experience violence. Violence prevention programs and projects, which are primarily carried out in schools, daycare centers and youth work facilities, contribute to this.

Violence prevention is a cross-sectional task. Youth protection, the police, schools, independent organizations and other specialist agencies therefore work closely together in Bonn and offer programs for children and young people as well as for parents and (educational) professionals.
