More bus stops in Bonn get display boards

The City of Bonn and Stadtwerke Bonn will be equipping more bus stops in the city with so-called dynamic passenger information displays (DFI). They show waiting passengers in real time the journeys currently on offer for the stop in question.

A priority list of stops in the four city districts was adopted by the Bonn City Council on November 12, 2024 at the proposal of the city administration and Stadtwerke Bonn. Existing political resolutions, passenger numbers, transfer stops and frequency of stops were taken into account when determining the priorities.

In the past, DFIs were installed primarily at bus stops where at least 500 passengers boarded buses on weekdays. As models of these display boards no longer require a power supply, but are equipped with photovoltaic modules and are cheaper to purchase, significantly more bus stops can now be equipped with DFI displays than before.

The timing of implementation depends on possible funding projects. Whether all stops in the priority list will receive DFI displays will become clear in the further course of implementation.

The draft resolution including the priority list is published  here (opens in a new tab).
