By resolution of March 20, 2025, the Bonn City Council asks the state government and Bonn's members of state and federal parliaments to advocate that the television station phoenix be preserved with its current offering and continue to be based and operate in Bonn. At a time when democracy as a form of government and its representatives, administration and politicians are coming under increasing pressure, the preservation of the phoenix channel is of paramount importance. Mayor Katja Dörner of Bonn has already responded to the request of the station's staff council and joined the petition to preserve the phoenix channel.
