District Chief Electoral Officer Wolfgang Fuchs: "I would like to thank the approximately 2,500 election workers who ensured that the Bundestag election in Bonn ran smoothly," said Wolfgang Fuchs. "Due to the high proportion of postal votes once again, the counting was again time-consuming. To take this into account, the number of postal voting boards has been increased from 61 for the European elections in 2024 to 65 for the Bundestag elections."

At 84.73%, voter turnout was higher than in 2021 (80.6%). The highest voter turnout in a Bundestag election was registered in Bonn in 1972 with 90.8 percent. 228,612 Bonn residents were eligible to vote in constituency 95 Bonn for the election to the 21st German Bundestag. In the run-up to the election, 77,569 citizens had applied to the city administration for their election documents; by 12 noon on Sunday, 72,835 election letters had been received by the city administration.
