Bonn-Information, the City of Bonn's tourist information office in the Office for Economic Development, officially has a new manager. Birgit Landsberg prevailed in a selection process and the entire staff council agreed. The 54-year-old will take up the position on December 5, 2024.
Landsberg has already been in temporary charge of Bonn-Information for around a year since the former director left. The Duisdorf native knows Bonn and the city administration very well. In 1986, at the age of 15, she began her training as an intermediate civil servant. This was followed by positions in what was then the residents' registration office in Duisdorf, in the public order field service and in the GABI police station.
After being promoted to the higher civil service, she worked in the Markets Service Center at Citizens' Services from 1997. In 2004, she moved to the district administration office in Beuel, initially in charge of the town twinning with Mirecourt and later as deputy head of the district administration office. In 2016, she took over the administrative coordination at Beethoven Jubiläums gGmbH. In 2021, she moved on to her current position as Deputy Head of Bonn-Information, which Landsberg has headed on an interim basis since March 2024.
"Bonn is such a lovable city, historically and culturally exciting and diverse as well as in a fantastic scenic location, so I am very pleased that I can now help shape the tourism development of my hometown Bonn as its director. I love to travel myself and have a clear idea of what guests could wish for here," says Landsberg.
