Integrated development concept for Buschdorf

The Bonn City Council adopted an integrated development concept for Buschdorf (Bonn district) on December 12, 2023. It forms the framework for the future and ongoing development of the district and serves as a guideline for urban planning.

As Buschdorf is growing due to the designation of new building areas, the opportunity should be taken to create a diverse and needs-based range of housing and infrastructure. To this end, a long-term sustainable profile for Buschdorf was developed with the slogan "Buschdorf - a growing community with quality living" based on a comprehensive district analysis, analyses for various topics and the results of numerous participation events with citizens in recent years.

Six overarching themes were defined for the needs-based development of the district:

  • Buschdorf grows and remains true to itself - Housing and urban design
  • Buschdorf (regionally) supplied - infrastructure and supply
  • Buschdorf is a growing community for all generations - Community, tradition and club life
  • Green and active district in the city - Open space and sport
  • Connected in and through Buschdorf - Traffic and mobility
  • Climate-adapted neighborhood development

18 goals and 29 individual measures are assigned to these six thematic areas. They were developed in dialog (citizen participation took place between 2015 and 2018) and with the involvement of residents. These are both structural and social measures that are intended to strengthen social cohesion. Most of the measures are projects in the administration's day-to-day business. The city will convene another round table with stakeholders from the district in the first quarter of 2024 to implement the IEK.
