Membership does not incur any additional costs. As part of the association's work, the City of Bonn is given more opportunities to co-determine the contributions of the network municipalities and can participate in joint projects, including funding applications. The work of the association is carried out by the Biostadt Coordinator in the Office for the Environment and Urban Greenery.
City of Bonn expands membership of the "Organic Cities" network
Bonn has been a member of the network of 24 organic cities, districts and municipalities since 2019. The aim is to jointly promote organic farming, processing and demand for organic food with short transportation routes and thus also regional value creation. The "Association for the Promotion of Organic Cities" was founded in order to better initiate joint projects in the future. At its meeting on August 22, the council agreed that the city of Bonn should become part of the association.
