The Godesberg Stadtpark is an extensive park in the style of an English landscape garden.
From 1880 onwards, it was repeatedly expanded through land purchases by the city, and former villa gardens in particular were integrated. Striking groups of trees and solitary specimens attract the attention of botanically interested visitors. What the Rhine meadow landscape near the electoral buildings on Kurfürstenstraße once offered - open space with an unobstructed view of the Siebengebirge - is now the park.
Again and again, the view opens up between the groups of trees and you can see the basalt hill with the Godesburg exposed by the Rhine and the electoral ballroom Redoute on the other side of Kurfürstenallee.
Opposite the Stadthalle is the oval pond of the Kurpark with its fountain, framed by trees and shrubs from almost every continent on earth. To the west of the Stadthalle is the drinking hall, known as the "Kurfürstenquelle" since 1962.
To the south is the almost five-hectare Rigal'sche Wiese, named after the barons of Rigal-Grunwald.
