According to the NRW municipal code, the district administration office must ensure that administrative tasks are carried out as locally as possible. This includes the organization of events for the preservation of local history and customs in the borough, the implementation and promotion of measures within the framework of the existing town twinning, information, documentation and representation in matters relating to the borough, the organization of special events in the borough, maintaining contacts and providing advice on administrative matters relating to local associations, facilities and institutions as well as citizens (e.g. grants to associations).
