The major challenges facing the City of Bonn require successful projects. The goals defined by citizens and political bodies in the areas of climate neutrality, mobility transition, social justice and digitalization can only be achieved through efficient collaboration between interdisciplinary teams.

The continuous professionalization of project and programme work is of paramount importance at all levels, from the sub-project to the project portfolio.

The staff unit for project and program management supports employees and managers of the city administration in all matters relating to project management and provides methodological assistance throughout the entire duration of the project.

In addition, the staff unit supports the gradual introduction of project portfolio management and is currently introducing software that will enable the departments and steering committees to manage the large number of projects in the strategic subject areas.
