Anyone who comes to Bonn by bike, rides to work or is out and about in their free time will want to find a place to park their bike. In Bonn, there are various ways to park your bike safely. To this end, the city of Bonn has bicycle racks in the city districts and is constantly expanding the range of secure parking facilities in multi-storey parking lots and bicycle boxes.

Bicycle bracket
With the implementation of various bicycle parking concepts, a wide range of bicycle racks has been created in recent years. To determine the needs and requirements of cyclists in terms of parking facilities, the City of Bonn has carried out a detailed inventory for the Bad Godesberg city center, Bonn city center, Beuel and Hardtberg. The city's transport policy goals were taken into account in the needs assessment.
Since June 2024, citizens have had the opportunity to submit location suggestions for bike racks directly to the City of Bonn via the feedback function in the City Key app or via anregungen.bonn.de. The aim is to better identify the need for bicycle parking facilities throughout the city and take this into account in planning. Citizens can use the web tools to view the current processing status of their hanger.
Bicycle parking garages and bicycle boxes
As part of the EU-funded "Emission-free city center" project - a joint project of the city of Bonn and Stadtwerke Bonn (SWB) - the city administration and partners have set up mobile stations with 21 bicycle boxes in the city area. They offer the opportunity to store bicycles in such boxes in a theft-proof and dry place.
In addition, four bicycle parking garages with a total of 280 lockable boxes were built as part of this project, in which bicycles can be securely parked:
- at Frankenbadplatz,
- at Stiftsplatz,
- at Konrad-Adenauer-Platz and
- at the train station in Beuel.
These modular parking systems for two-wheelers are fully automated. Cyclists can easily book and pay for the lockers using the SWB Bus und Bahn (BONNmobil (opens in a new tab)) app or the operator's app (opens in a new tab).
Bicycle parking in parking garages

Bicycle parking at the main station
You can park your bike safely and under cover at the main station in the Rabinstraße parking garage (144 parking spaces) or at the Caritas bike station (360 parking spaces). The bike station also offers a repair and cleaning service (only from October to March). Access to the bike station is via Quantiusstraße.
