The handling of data concerns us all.
In addition to Bonn, other cities and institutions are also currently adopting a data governance or data strategy or defining measures to achieve data excellence.
Some cities already did this some time ago. These cities can be role models and inspiration.
What can active data governance with a focus on open data look like? What is it like when an entire city works together on data governance?
To give you a better idea, we have put together a small selection of competencies from other municipalities and projects.
Follow the links and get an impression of how other municipalities or projects handle their data.
City of Vienna
The City of Vienna is a pioneer when it comes to municipal data excellence. The focus of its data excellence is open data and the secure handling of data. A special feature of the City of Vienna is that it has very detailed role models and training courses. With this model, Data Excellence intervenes very deeply in the structures and makes the implementation of Data Excellence a city-wide task.
FUTR HUB Urban Tech Republic Berlin TXL
The Tegel project is planning one of the most "ambitious" smart city projects in Europe on the former airport site. The overarching goals of this project are to promote data-driven innovation, build trust in digital processes and monetize data to create value. The Urban Data Management Team of the City of Bonn is in close contact with the Berlin project team.
Connected Urban Twins
The cities of Hamburg, Leipzig and Munich are involved in the Connected Urban Twins (CUT) project. The CUT project deals with digital twins. Digital twins require large, high-quality data bases. Data governance clarifies access to and handling of data. As part of the project, 14 fields of action for data governance were also identified.
