City of Bonn

Life in the neighborhood

"Kiez", "Veedel", "Viertel" or "Quartier" is a place to live, care for and meet. It is the familiar living environment in which social networks are established and in which neighborhoods are lived and cultivated.

Networkers, facilitators and activators - the local neighborhood managers - help here.

As the first point of contact in the neighborhood, they activate residents to strengthen social cohesion and involve them in the further development of their neighborhood. They support local activities by residents, collect ideas, network people and initiatives and organize the process of strengthening the neighbourhood and the residents' own responsibility.

Systematic neighborhood management in the City of Bonn

Life in a neighborhood encompasses not only one's own four walls, but also living situations and neighborhoods. Neighborhood management helps to form and strengthen social networks and promote social interaction in the neighborhood to create a vibrant neighborhood.

Neighborhood management is to be established in up to eight of Bonn's 62 statistical districts. There are currently five projects that are being supported and funded by the City of Bonn as part of systematic neighborhood management. With the help of the Neighborhood Fund, it is also possible to finance smaller neighborhood-related projects and campaigns.

Here you will find an overview of the existing neighborhood projects in the City of Bonn.
