Bonn City Council decides on three Sundays open for business

On the occasion of the "Bonn-Fest" and "Bonn Leuchtet" events as well as the Kessenich Autumn Market, local stores are allowed to open on two Sundays in September and one Sunday in November. The necessary official ordinances were passed by the council at its meeting on Thursday, August 29.

Kessenich Autumn Market on Sunday, September 22nd

The Förderverein Stadtmarketing Kessenich has been organizing the Kessenich Autumn Market for 42 years: local businesses, associations and social institutions present themselves and offer market stalls, a stage program, a flea market and other attractions. The organizer expects 8,000 to 10,000 visitors.

To mark the occasion, local businesses will be allowed to open on the following streets from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Sunday of the event, September 22: Pützstraße between Karthäuserplatz and Burbacher Straße, Rheinweg between Pützstraße and Franz-Bücheler-Straße and Burbacher Straße between Wolterstraße and Bergstraße.

"Bonn-Fest" on Sunday, September 29

The Bonn City Marketing Association has been organizing the annual "Bonn-Fest" since 1997. This year, the festival will take place from September 27 to 29. With its varied and high-quality stage program and a combination of music, dance, shows, exhibitions, information stands, gastronomy and market stalls, it attracts up to 350,000 visitors to the city centre every year.

To mark the occasion, neighboring stores are allowed to open on Sunday, September 29, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the area bordered by the following streets: Belderberg, Franziskanerstraße, An der Schlosskirche, Am Hof, Am Neutor, Kaiserplatz, Am Hauptbahnhof, Thomas-Mann-Straße, Berliner Platz, Oxfordstraße and Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz.

"Bonn Shines" on Sunday, November 3

The "Bonn Leuchtet" event is also organized by City-Marketing Bonn. From November 1 to 3, there will be a wide range of exhibitions, information stands, gastronomy and hands-on activities in Bonn's city center. A highlight: Bonn's sights will be illuminated and projected.

On Sunday, November 3, adjacent stores are therefore allowed to open in the following area: Belderberg, Franziskanerstrasse, An der Schlosskirche, Am Hof, Am Neutor, Kaiserplatz, Am Hauptbahnhof, Thomas-Mann-Strasse, Berliner Platz, Oxfordstrasse and Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz. The organizer expects 150,000 to 200,000 visitors.
