City of Bonn

Sewer in Hugo-Haelschner-Straße is being renovated

From the end of March 2025, the City of Bonn's civil engineering department will be renewing the sewer in Hugo-Haelschner-Straße in Kessenich (Bonn district) in the section between Rheinweg and house no. 16 (turning hammer). The reason for this is the poor condition of the sewer and numerous root ingrowths. The work is expected to take five months.

The renovation will be carried out by cut-and-cover and will start at the Rheinweg. At the junction, the sewer will be laid in a new route outside of private property. After a crossing of the roadway, the work will continue to the turning hammer.

The sewer will be renovated over a length of around 120 meters. The civil engineering office is also renewing three manholes and five gullies. The construction work will cost around 380,000 euros.

Due to the extent of the construction work, there may be traffic disruptions. Residents as well as the fire and rescue services will be able to pass the construction site as the road will only be closed on one side. The parking spaces in front of the houses with even numbers will have to be closed during the construction period depending on the progress of the work.
