In future, parking is to be regulated in narrow streets and intensively used areas. The Bonn City Council passed a resolution to this effect on December 12, 2024. Such areas will be provided as required, for example in the area of the main railway station, the bus station or Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz. Among other things, this is due to numerous complaints about e-scooters being parked in an obstructive manner.

As part of the signage and marking of a parking area, an area will be defined around the respective location in which the rental bikes and e-scooters may not be parked. The providers of the rental systems are informed about these zones and must ensure that the regulations are communicated to the users.

Third-party parking should be prevented by suitable measures, such as the installation of bollards.
