City of Bonn promotes counseling and integration services

The German Red Cross, Bonn district association, and the Association of Binational Families and Partnerships (iaf) receive grants from the city of Bonn for their work.

After the Committee for Social Affairs and Housing, the Integration Council has now also approved the project. The administration had recommended the funding. The budget funds for both grants are included in the 2025/2026 draft budget of the Office for Integration and Diversity.

The DRK Bonn will receive a grant of 18,316 euros for 2025 for refugee counseling, migration counseling for adults and exit and perspective counseling (outside of reception facilities). The advice center is an important point of contact for refugees and immigrants in Bonn as well as for tolerated persons and other migrants in special problem situations. Asylum seekers, refugees, people with and without residence status, tolerated persons and migrants with the prospect of staying as well as ethnic German repatriates receive support with personal and family problems.

The Association of Binational Families and Partnerships (iaf) will receive funding of 32,555 euros for the Bonn advice center in 2025. The association has been a point of contact for binational and bicultural couples and families in Bonn for many years. Among other things, it offers general legal advice on issues relating to residence, separation, divorce, custody and marriage, partnership and parenting issues.

With parent-child groups, the intercultural children's library and other services, the association supports intercultural education and upbringing and has also been supporting the Rucksack Kita language and education program for many years, which it started in Bonn many years ago.
