Overview
If someone is unfit to drive a vehicle, their driving license will be revoked.
If there are doubts about a person's suitability to drive a vehicle, the driving license authority is obliged, for the protection of other road users, to investigate these suitability concerns and, under certain circumstances, to revoke the driving license.
Reasons for unsuitability may include
- health restrictions or physical impairments
- Repeated traffic violations (points in Flensburg)/ traffic offenses
- Drug or alcohol abuse.
When the requirements for unsuitability are met in detail and in which cases a restricted driving license can be issued despite a lack of suitability is essentially based on the assessment guidelines for driving suitability.
Due to the high workload, there may be delays in processing applications and restrictions on telephone availability. We ask for your understanding.
