According to the Surveying and Cadastre Act of North Rhine-Westphalia, landowners/authorized leaseholders must have newly constructed buildings or buildings whose ground plan has been changed surveyed at their own expense. The building survey is used, among other things, to issue boundary certificates/attestations and to update the real estate cadastre.
