The City of Bonn provides a large part of its services through privately organized holding companies and municipal enterprises. In addition to the traditional municipal utility sectors - electricity, gas, water, district heating, transport, waste recycling - the range of tasks includes housing construction, tourism and congresses, cultural facilities, senior citizens' centers and municipal building management.
