On May 31 and June 1, 2025, Münsterplatz will be transformed into a paradise for ceramics fans as the 28th Bonn Pottery Market invites you to discover the world of pottery. At the invitation of the North Rhine Ceramics Guild, 45 exhibitors from all over Germany and several neighboring countries will present handmade unique pieces and small series.

The Bonn pottery market is known for its large selection of utility ceramics that combine trends and traditions. Visitors will find pretty and useful items in every price range, from unique vessels and figurative ceramics to tableware and jewelry. Whether plant pots, herb signs, vases, wind chimes or fountains - the range for home and garden is diverse.

Nature meets architecture

Hückelhoven ceramist Petra Casteel, whose work is inspired by the beauty of nature, will be represented for the first time. Her vessels, bowls and plates in soft earthy tones radiate tranquillity and originality and look great on an individually laid table.

Linear graphic patterns reminiscent of Op Art and architecture are characteristic of Mi Sook Hwang's work. She deliberately keeps her often cylindrical ceramic bodies made of porcelain and stoneware minimalist in order to give the surface dynamics as much space as possible.

Pop culture for everyday life: table sketches

Black Nigra clay and porcelain are the preferred materials of Yvette Öneren-Pistor and her "table sketches". Her trademark: comic-like sketches and sayings that enliven the surfaces of her bowls, plates, cups, vases, jugs and butter dishes by screen printing and turn them into witty companions for everyday use.

Humor also characterizes many of Nicole Lindstedt's colourful ceramics. The East Frisian artist's fence stools make every passer-by smile, while her clay wild bee houses provide a weatherproof space for flying and crawling guests.

Stories from around the world at the Bonn pottery market

Svitlana Gibalenko, a ceramics workshop from the Ukraine, will also be a guest this year. The award-winning ceramist's often dreamy figures are partly made of fireclay, hand-carved, then painted with several layers of glaze and high-fired.

Things get South American at Mariana Alonso's stand. The Argentinian works intensively with pre-Columbian and pre-Hispanic ceramic techniques and has vessels and figurines on offer.

Zambian-born ceramicist Elizabeth Friedrich combines African and Arabic influences. Her bright chameleons, crocodiles, fish and frogs are cheerful companions for the home and garden.

As every year, a hands-on tent at the market offers young and old alike the opportunity to shape their own pieces out of clay.
