Sustainability Hub: About us

The Nachhaltigkeits-Hub Region Bonn was launched in summer 2021. It supports companies, the self-employed and start-ups in their sustainable transformation and offers space for networking and knowledge sharing.

Background to the Nachhaltigkeits-Hub Region Bonn

The Nachhaltigkeits-Hub Region Bonn was established following a political decision by the City of Bonn Council in June 2021. In an intensive development phase with 20 conceptual stakeholders from business associations, chambers, universities and companies, the objectives and priorities were subsequently jointly developed and defined by the end of 2022. In November 2022, the outward-facing work of the Nachhaltigkeits-Hub Region Bonn began with a kick-off event.

The project management of the Nachhaltigkeits-Hub Region Bonn lies with the Service Center Wirtschaft in the Office for Economic Development of the City of Bonn. The central point of contact for the activities of the Sustainability Hub is a cross-departmental team from the Office of Economic Development. At the same time, numerous conceptual stakeholders are involved in the work of the Nachhaltigkeits-Hub Region Bonn in terms of content and structure.

The Nachhaltigkeits-Hub Region Bonn has set itself the goal of supporting companies in the region in implementing sustainable business models and advising them on the transformation. It brings together needs and solutions and makes innovative approaches and concrete examples that have already been implemented visible.

The Nachhaltigkeits-Hub Region Bonn organizes and bundles a wide range of events (opens in a new tab), such as workshops, themed cafés or regulars' tables, where entrepreneurs and representatives of chambers, business associations and academia can talk to each other. They have the opportunity to develop ideas together, exchange ideas and network.
Individual advice is an important component. The Nachhaltigkeits-Hub Region Bonn knows the right regional consulting services for existing companies and newly founded start-ups of all sizes. It offers its own consulting services and provides support in finding ways and solutions for individual concerns.
As a guide to suitable financing options, it also supports entrepreneurs in gaining an overview of the funding on offer, making it easier for them to access it.

The Gemeinschaftswerk is an open platform for promoting commitment to sustainability in Germany. To this end, it makes actors, activities and offers visible and offers networking opportunities throughout Germany.
