Bonn is a location for important and globally active commercial enterprises. This is shown, for example, by an analysis of the market capitalization of those stock corporations that are listed in the DAX indices (DAX 30, MDAX, TecDAX) and have their headquarters in Bonn. According to the last analysis in May 2019, the combined market capitalization of the DAX companies Deutsche Telekom and Deutsche Post DHL Group was around EUR 106.5 billion (as at 16 May 2019). In terms of market capitalization, the German city was in third place, as in the previous year. This was the result of the "Stock Exchange League 2019" survey conducted by strategy consultants Simon-Kucher & Partners, which has been carrying out such a ranking since 2005. Munich is the undisputed leader with 13 companies and a market capitalization of 296.5 billion euros. The city of Bonn has remained stable in the top 3 in Simon-Kucher & Partners' stock market league for many years and has also been number 1 in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia for many years. Daily stock market portals also continue to confirm Bonn's outstanding position and third place in the hierarchy of German "stock market capitals". (opens in a new tab)
