City of Bonn

Using the road differently: These options are available

Residential streets can be places to stay, meeting places and social spaces for the neighborhood. This page provides an overview of how residents can temporarily use their own residential street: for example, as a meeting place for the neighborhood, for joint celebrations or as a playground for children.

On the two pages entitled  "More space for greenery and living" and  "More space for community" you will find numerous ideas on how your residential street can be upgraded for you and your neighborhood: from temporary play streets to bed sponsorship and street festivals.

Neighborhoods in Bonn are already working together to bring their streets to life or beautify them

Contact addresses for questions can be found directly under the offers. The city is also offering information workshops for clubs, organizations, residents and interested parties this summer. These will take place in cooperation with the creative community "ARTpolis - Community Arts & Music Lab ℅ BIM e.V.".

If you are interested, you can register at  strassenideenbonnde.

Funding opportunities

The city center management is currently promoting projects for the common good in the center of Bonn between the Rhine, freeway and Reuterstrasse with the so-called disposal fund. The fund supports ideas on the following topics:

  • Strengthening the retail trade
  • Climate protection and adaptation to climate change
  • Integration, participation and encounters

You can find more information and how to apply for funding for your project idea from the  city center management (opens in a new tab).

In addition, there are numerous other funding opportunities for anyone who wants to do something for their neighborhood in Bonn. These include, among others:
