The moveBonn program supports employers from the Bonn/Rhine-Sieg region in designing their company mobility management. The focus is on employees' journeys to work. The aim of the program is to reduce traffic congestion, especially during rush hours, by ensuring that as many employees as possible use sustainable commuting options (such as bikes, buses and trains or carpooling) to get to work. To enable employers to provide their employees with the best possible support, moveBonn provides the relevant mobility expertise, including through individual analyses, themed presentations, training courses and network meetings.
The moveBonn program was founded at the end of 2019 under the name Jobwärts as part of the "Lead City" project by the City of Bonn, the Rhein-Sieg district and the Zukunftsnetz Mobilität NRW. Since the start of the programme, Jobwärts has optimized the mobility management of dozens of employers and thus established itself as a permanent fixture. Due to its great importance, the successes achieved so far and the high potential for switching to environmentally friendly means of transport, the city of Bonn is now continuing the program on its own as part of the climate plan; since 2025 with optimized content and free participation under the new name moveBonn.
23 percent of all journeys made by Bonn residents are for work, education or business purposes. A lot can be achieved here by rethinking. All participating employers actively contribute to the mobility transition, support climate protection and air pollution control in the region and thus promote the well-being of everyone, not just their own employees.
