City of Bonn

Twinning Bonn-Potsdam

Since 1988, the former electoral residence of Bonn and the once most important Prussian residential city of Potsdam have been twinned. What began under the socialist regime with strictly regulated visits by individuals quickly developed into lively contact in many areas of society after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Numerous meetings have taken place since then.

Even today, the partnership with Potsdam is still maintained between citizens of both cities. The two twinning clubs, the Bonn Club in Potsdam and the Potsdam Club in Bonn, are the driving force behind the twinning relationship and organize the development of the partnership. The Potsdam Club in Bonn regularly invites people to Lenné Roundtables, where they reflect on historical or current topics relating to the two cities in lectures and discussions.
