City of Bonn

The world in Bonn

On June 20, 1991, a new course was set for Bonn: On this day, the German Bundestag decided to relocate its seat and the core of government functions to Berlin. Parallel to its role as the City of Bonn, the city began to develop into a center for international cooperation.

Today, Bonn is an established United Nations location for sustainability issues. Numerous internationally active organizations have settled here, which together with around 150 non-governmental organizations, the Federal Government, players from business, science and the media form a strong network for global issues of the future.

The brochure "Bonn - Federal City and International Location" invites you on a voyage of discovery, particularly through the City of Bonn, the UN Campus and the colourful landscape of international organizations in Bonn. Business, science, culture and, of course, Beethoven can also be found here.
