Indo-German Society - Bonn/Cologne Branch

The Indo-German Society sees itself as a forum for information, exchange of ideas and contacts between people who are interested in the political, social, economic and scientific developments in India and are fascinated by its rich culture and the diverse religions and philosophical traditions of the subcontinent. It was founded as one of the first German-foreign societies after the Second World War and has been recognized as a non-profit organization since 1953.

The Bonn/Cologne branch was founded in 1964.

The DIG Bonn-Cologne organizes events with important Indian ensembles, artists and speakers. In this way, it contributes to German-Indian cultural exchange in the region. Its cultural work focuses on India-related lectures and seminars on topics relating to religion, culture, economics and ecology, as well as concerts with renowned Indian musicians and events with dancers offering many types of classical and modern Indian dance.
