Counseling can take the form of longer-term support, but can also be a one-off telephone consultation on a specific issue. Consultations concerning the support options for individual pupils can take place anonymously, with the consent of the person with custody or as a joint consultation with the family.

We support schools as overall systems in the design of change processes so that they are sustainably positioned in their structures and processes for their challenges. We advise on school development processes and support the long-term implementation of key topics such as team development, intercultural openness, dealing with challenging student behavior, violence prevention and inclusion. We empower schools to act safely in crises and manage them well.

Our services relate to the prevention of school crises as well as their support and aftercare. We support schools in setting up their own crisis teams and preventing crisis events through prevention concepts. In the event of a school crisis (e.g. deaths, suicide announcements, accidents), we advise school management and crisis teams and support those affected and the school community.

The school psychology advice center of the City of Bonn supports schools in Bonn in the area of preventing extremism and promoting democracy.

A specially trained teacher provides schools with needs-oriented support in their efforts to strengthen democratic competence in their institution and to prevent and competently counter discrimination and extremism of all kinds.

Advice
We support school administrators, teachers, school social workers, parents and pupils with an initial assessment of individual situations and incidents in the area of discrimination and extremism, with planning further action and, if necessary, with the referral of counseling concerns to qualified local agencies (e.g. prevention program "Wegweiser - Gemeinsam gegen Islamismus", "Mobile Beratung gegen Rechtsextremismus", police, municipal integration center, youth welfare, associations).

Project support
We provide support in the planning and implementation of school or class-wide projects to strengthen the free and democratic basic order, for example in the implementation of open teaching concepts, the organization of a project week for democracy and respect, the implementation of a participation app for pupils to promote democratic practices and skills, or other projects.

School development support
In cooperation with school psychologists, we support schools in developing and implementing concepts for participation and violence prevention in all areas of school life. Together with you, we consider which supplementary offers, methods and programs fit into existing school concepts.
