The costs for participating in a communal lunch are reimbursed for children, adolescents and young adults up to the age of 25. The prerequisite is that they attend a day care center or a general or vocational school and do not receive a training allowance. If no meals are provided at the school or day care center, no benefit can be claimed.
Which documents must be submitted?
From August 1, 2019, the assumption of the costs for the communal lunch will be deemed to have been applied for with your application for benefits from the Jobcenter or social assistance. The same applies if you have applied for a Bonn ID card.
Recipients of housing benefit and child supplement must submit a separate application to the service center. Please present the notice of approval for education and participation benefits and/or the Bonn ID card to the school or daycare center as soon as possible (at the latest at the beginning of the validity period). Everything else will then be arranged from there.
