Dialogue on the 2023/2024 budget: Council decides to implement projects

At its meeting on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, the Bonn City Council decided on the implementation of the projects from the citizens' dialog on the 2023/2024 budget in the districts of Bonn, Bad Godesberg and Beuel. The resolution for Hardtberg was postponed.

A wide variety of projects are supported with a grant. In the Bonn district, for example, the "Leihbar" is receiving support to enable it to expand. With the "Community Space", a place to work, learn and relax is to be created in Neu-Tannenbusch for young people and (young) adults who need such a place next to their own home.

In Bad Godesberg, the project for a communal garden where residents can plant food for their own use or for communal consumption will receive money from the available budget.

In Beuel, money from the budget dialog will be used to purchase a basketball hoop at the football pitch in Vilich-Müldorf, among other things. In addition, seating and trees to provide shade at Müldorfer Anger are to be financed.

The Council has postponed the resolution for the Hardtberg district because the Hardtberg district council and the Committee for Finance, Investments and Public Procurement have not yet discussed the matter.

An overview of all selected projects will soon be available on the Bonn participation platform  www.bonn-macht-mit.de.

Background dialog on the budget

In the dialog on the 2023/2024 budget, Bonn residents were invited to submit proposals for specific projects to be implemented in the individual city districts. A total budget of 220,000 euros was available for this purpose. Following a review and cost estimate by the administration and the final vote by citizens, the most popular feasible proposals were presented to the respective district councils, the finance committee and now the council, which made the final decision on implementation and budget allocation.
