New digital services from Bonn City Library

Music, education and knowledge, entertainment and travel - the City Library's customers can look forward to new digital offerings that complement the existing ones.

The City of Bonn not only offers digital administrative services, books, sheet music, newspapers, learning and exercise material or digital travel guides can also be accessed conveniently from home via the city library. Here is an overview of the services:

Music

With "Naxos Music Library", Bonn City Library is getting into music streaming and offers access to audio and video content from many music labels in the classical, jazz and world music genres.

"Enote" is an intelligent sheet music app that contains everything classical musicians need to learn, practise and play: Score searches, quick jumps that lead directly to the destinations of repeat signs, coda, D.S. and D.C. symbols, navigation links that allow you to instantly switch between movements and measures, and much more.

Children's books in interactive form

For children, "Tigerbooks" offers a large selection of popular and well-known children's books in interactive form. More than 15,000 titles can be accessed as classic e-books, for example, but also as animated children's books with a read-aloud function. Learning and reading games are also included in the new offer.

Press

The "PressReader" provides easy access to 7,000 daily magazines and newspapers from more than 120 countries and in more than 60 languages. A read-aloud and translation function is also included.

Knowledge and education

Some of the new offerings support pupils in their learning and provide opportunities to reinforce lesson content. "Brockhaus Schülertraining" is an e-learning service that allows pupils to learn at their own pace and therefore without stress - including direct feedback. It is available for the subjects German with the areas of essay, grammar and spelling, French, English, Latin and mathematics for grades 5 to 10.

The "Pocket Teacher" series from Duden-Verlag for secondary school brings all relevant topics for grades 5 to 10 to the point in a clear and easy-to-understand way. The books in the "Pocket Teacher Abi" series are ideal for exam preparation. The content is adapted to the current national requirements for the Abitur examination. For lower and middle school, there is content for the subjects biology, chemistry, English grammar, English vocabulary trainer, Latin grammar, music and physics. Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, German, English, Latin, Geography, History, Art, Music, Specialist Work and Education are available for preparing for the Abitur.

The Duden SMS quick-reference system is also available for grades 5 to 10 and for the Abitur level. Clear reminder boxes list the rule and the appropriate example. German grammar, German spelling and punctuation, English grammar, French grammar, biology, chemistry and mathematics are covered for grades 5 to 10. The subjects biology, chemistry, German, English, mathematics, physics, history, politics and economics are available for the Abitur.

"Brockhaus Klima der Welt" is a knowledge portal that provides information on everything important about the climate: Status, influencing factors, history and future scenarios. The portal uses interactive statistics and diagrams, for example, to show the role humans play in current climate change and the dangers to the environment and society arising from changes in the earth's climate.

Dorling Kindersley (DK) "Big Ideas" offers knowledge for all those who want to improve theirs and provides a clear, descriptive introduction to the most important topics. Central theories, well-founded content and original knowledge transfer: ideal for information and reference.

Journey

The "Vis-à-vis Travel Guide" takes you to the most beautiful attractions and sights in the city or region and provides information on cultural history and lifestyle. With detailed expert knowledge, 3D elevation drawings and over 350 atmospheric photos, everyone can experience their dream destination up close.
