The tender was based on corresponding political resolutions and with the participation of the local transport companies Stadtwerke Bonn Verkehrs-GmbH (SWB), Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK) and Rhein-Sieg-Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH (RSVG). The bike sharing providers who took part in the tender will make their bikes available for a test so that qualitative features of the bikes can also be included in the award. A decision will then be made as to which provider will be awarded the contract based on all the evaluation criteria announced.

The contracts for the three different bike sharing systems currently in place in Bonn and the Rhine-Sieg district on the left and right bank of the Rhine will expire in summer 2025. The new, overarching system will then be implemented in a seamless transition. In the interests of citizens, the new system will not stop at city or district boundaries, but will make it possible to "experience" the region in its entirety with standard bikes and pedelecs.
