Two small daycare centers with two groups each in Buschdorf are very outdated. The facilities on municipal land at Von-den-Driesch-Straße 59 and Friedlandstraße 17 no longer meet today's requirements in terms of accessibility, energy efficiency, occupational safety and spatial concept. The Bonn City Council therefore gave its approval in principle for the two daycare centers to be demolished and for a new combined building with a daycare center and youth center to be built in their place.

In future, the new Kita will have space for six groups. The new facility will then be able to provide around 100 childcare places for children from the age of four months until they start school. It has not yet been decided how the sponsorship will be arranged. The city of Bonn will hold talks with the Bonn/Hersel Protestant Church Association to determine whether there is interest in taking over the facility. The church association is currently responsible for the facility on Friedlandstraße.

It will also be examined whether a youth center can be integrated as part of the construction project. The sponsor of the youth center in Buschdorf "Lucky Luke e.V. Verein für Kinder und Jugendarbeit in Bonn-Buschdorf" is looking for new premises, as the current accommodation of the open youth work facility "Buschbude" in the basement of the Catholic parish center is only temporary. The City of Bonn is now preparing the preliminary planning with a cost estimate and will resubmit this to the committees.

The construction project is subject to planning approval and the approval of the State Youth Welfare Office for the spatial concept for a new six-group Kita building.
