Bad Godesberg center management invites you to Sustainability Day

Together with other committed players, the team shows how everyday life can be made more sustainable with fresh ideas.

How can we live more sustainably and shape our everyday lives? Answers and creative ideas can be found at the Sustainability Day in Bad Godesberg. On Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Theaterplatz and the "Ort der Begegnung" at Fronhof 10 will be transformed into a platform for forward-looking topics: with playful hands-on activities for the whole family, information stands and practical tips that can be applied directly - from plant swaps and bike checks to craft activities for Easter and much more.

The event is the initiative of the center management team, which manages the "meeting place" on behalf of the city. "With the Sustainability Day, we show how diverse, practical and simple sustainable action can be," explains center manager Frank Schmitz from the "STADT BERATUNG Dr. Sven Fries" office. "We bring together creative minds from different areas who bring a breath of fresh air into our everyday lives with their sustainable solutions."

Many committed players will be at the start of the Sustainability Day, such as the "#jetztinbonn" initiative, which campaigns for democracy and humanity, as well as the Climate Quarter and the Change Club, which will be inviting people to take part in a quiz. Bonnorange shows how waste avoidance works, with a focus on organic waste. Curious minds can put their knowledge to the test with the quiz wheel. The Citizens' Solar Advisory Service will be providing its expertise on solar energy and "VividVisions" will be offering a craft workshop for Easter cards and glass upcycling - anyone wishing to take part is welcome to bring along old glasses. From 3 pm, the neighborhood initiative "Grüne Schürzen" (Green Aprons) from Pennefeld will be lending a hand - with a garbage collection campaign for a clean center; anyone who would like to take part is cordially invited.

The ADFC will be checking bicycles free of charge and handing out used bike maps, while the tree wardens will be providing fun with a tree quiz, a habitat tree activity for children and a game of skill with the planting robot. SoLaWi and Naturnah Gärtnern are organizing a planting campaign and a plant exchange for native species. The Office for Local Sustainability will be providing information about fair trade and organic farming and inviting visitors to play wheel of fortune. The Office for International and Global Sustainability will be on site with an interactive action stand, while the center management team will be running a swap exchange for used but well-preserved clothing and functional household items in the meeting place on this day.

"With so many committed initiatives, Sustainability Day will be a celebration for everyone who wants to join in, discover and make a difference," says Frank Schmitz. "It would be great to reach those who have not yet engaged with the topic - because together we can achieve a lot," he says. For more information, email  infozm-bad-godesbergde
