General plan of the winning design for the "Im Rosenfeld" development in Buschdorf. The site is located between the light rail tracks, the Green C and the 555 freeway.

For the development plan procedure required to create building rights, the city has commissioned planning offices to develop ideas for the future development of the area at the Buschdorf light rail station in an urban development and landscape planning competition. On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the jury awarded a first and a second prize as well as two recognition prizes.

First place went to Schellenberg + Bäumler Architekten GmbH (Dresden) with Studio grüngrau Landschaftsarchitekten GmbH (Düsseldorf). Following the conclusion of the competition, the winning designs and all other designs will be on public display in the City Hall foyer for four weeks. The presentation can be viewed Mondays to Thursdays from 8 am to 6 pm and Fridays from 8 am to 3 pm. Admission is free.

As part of a finissage, the administration will review the competition together with the chair of the jury, architect Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Eva-Maria Pape. The public closing event will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 4 p.m. in the City Hall foyer.

Background

The "Im Rosenfeld" development area is one of the few large development sites owned by the city of Bonn. The area of around 18 hectares covers the area between the 555 freeway, the city limits of Bornheim, the route of the Cologne-Bonn light rail line and Schickgasse. The development plan procedure is to be continued on the basis of the design by Schellenberg and Bäumler with studio grüngrau, the winners of the competition.
